Fireworks Galaxy (NGC 6946) and a open cluster of stars (NGC6939) in our own galaxy. First target captured in new Observatory using Celestron XLT 150 scope, an ASI2600MM camera with RGB filters plus an Ha filter. The data from the Hydrogen Alpha filter brings in the nebulosity color on the galaxy spiral arms. These are regions of deep red gas lit up by newborn stars.
Taken on August 18th, 2026. 12 3 min Rd subs, 9 3 min Bl subs, 9 3 min Gr subs, 14 3 min Lu subs, 10 3 min Ha subs. Processed in Siril, used the continuum subtraction python script to add the Ha color.
I did the fireworks galaxy in 2023 using the same scope but with my homemade mount, ASI533MC color camera and Ekos software. Fireworks Galaxy taken July/Aug 2023.
