Bode’s and Cigar Galaxy (M81 and M82) Taken on March 21, 2025. Using ASI2600 monochrome camera on Celestron XLT 150 750mm focal length scope with 0.95 Coma Corrector under bortle 9 sky. There were 26 180 sec luminance images, 8 180 Red, Green and Blue images.
My first image of the cigar galaxy where the red color near the core of the galaxy is visible. M82 is a starburst galaxy where stars are being created in the core of the galaxy which are visible in red.
Still working on monochrome image process techniques, so a bit of a work in progress at this time.
