The Heart Nebula (SH 2-190)

The Heart Nebula. An emission nebula in Cassiopeia. It frames perfectly as 250mm focal length of the Redcat51. It is a good target in the fall as it is very high in the sky all night. This image was taken on October 25th 2024. It is composed in the Hubble Palette and shot with two dual narrow band filters to capture three emission wavelengths.

Below is another image of the heart nebula, one of my first images taken with the Redcat51 scope in October of 2023. It was also one my first using the ZWO auto focuser which helps bring out the nebula by keeping the stars small. Total exposure time of about 1.5 hours with about 20 subs of 5 mins each. That night, the seeing wasn’t very good with some high clouds, but guiding managed to work. Very minimal post image processing, only did color calibration, gradient removal, and histogram stretch. Could probably be improved with more processing.
